Most missionaries and pastors don’t have emergency savings or financial safety nets. A car breakdown, a medical bill, or a home repair can derail their ability to serve. The Jubilee Fund exists to meet those moments with compassion, speed, and structure—so that faithfulness isn’t interrupted by financial instability.
The Jubilee Fund provides targeted financial assistance for:
Unexpected medical costs, from surgeries to specialist visits, can overwhelm families living on ministry income. The Jubilee Fund helps carry that burden.
Reliable transportation is essential for ministry and family life. We help Christian workers replace or repair vehicles that have failed at the worst time.
When housing issues threaten safety or stability—roof damage, flooding, failed HVAC—we step in to prevent crisis and restore peace of mind.
Some needs don’t fit a category—but still deserve compassion. We support unique, urgent expenses that threaten a family’s stability or calling.
Every Jubilee Fund story is verified, specific, and personal. These needs are funded through individual donors who give to the general fund or indicate a preference toward a specific, approved campaign.

“We didn’t know how we’d cover the cost of the repairs and still get to church. The Jubilee Fund stepped in when no one else could.”

Every Jubilee Fund is validated by Rivergate Foundation (to ensure documentation, referral, and compliance are in place) and approved by the applicant’s local leadership as part of the referral process. This ensures both organizational and relational oversight before a campaign is launched.
Jubilee Funds are vetted, tax-deductible, and protected:
• Every campaign is validated by Rivergate Foundation and approved through local leadership who understand the specifics of the need.
• Donors receive a tax deduction.
• Rivergate Foundation pays providers directly, ensuring funds are used as intended.
• Campaigns are hosted through a nonprofit platform, not a for-profit crowdfunding site.
• Every campaign requires a referral letter approved by local leadership.
• All disbursements require documentation from providers.
• Rivergate Foundation keeps detailed records of all payments and retains discretion over use of funds.
Any paid Christian missionary or church staff member experiencing a one-time extraordinary financial need (such as medical bills, vehicle repairs, or a housing emergency) is eligible to apply.
Each Jubilee Fund includes a 7% sustainability margin to ensure that 100% of your intended gift goes directly to the need, while covering secure processing and administrative stewardship.
The $25,000 cap is based on research into the cost of safe, reliable vehicles for families and ministry use. Models such as the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, and similar vehicles typically fall within this range, and in many field contexts, SUVs like the Toyota 4Runner are also reasonable at this level. Setting the cap at $25,000 ensures that campaigns remain realistic, defensible, and transparent for donors while still meeting the transportation needs of Christian missionaries, pastors, and staff.
Rivergate Foundation retains full discretion and control over all donated funds. In practice, we honor donor preferences whenever possible. If a campaign does not reach its full goal, all funds raised will still be directed toward the verified need. For car campaigns, the amount raised will be applied toward purchasing a safe and reliable vehicle within the available funds. For all other campaigns, every gift is applied directly to verified invoices from providers. In the event funds cannot be used as intended, they will be directed toward other vetted Jubilee Fund needs at Rivergate Foundation's discretion. No donation is ever wasted.
Donors can give to the general Jubilee Fund or indicate a preference toward a specific, Rivergate-approved campaign listed on our giving platform. All gifts are made to Rivergate Foundation. Rivergate retains full discretion and control over all funds and disburses directly to vendors, service providers, and creditors, never to individual recipients.
Rivergate Foundation pays providers or institutions directly (e.g., hospitals, treatment programs, auto dealers). Funds are never given directly to recipients.
Yes. All contributions to the Jubilee Fund are made to Rivergate Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 33-4057503), and are fully tax-deductible in accordance with IRS regulations. Because Rivergate Foundation retains full discretion and control over all funds, your gift qualifies as a charitable contribution.
If funds raised exceed the final cost or negotiated settlement, the excess will remain with Rivergate Foundation and be directed toward its Endowment or other vetted Jubilee Fund needs. Surplus funds are never returned directly to recipients.
You deserve to know exactly where your money goes, so here it is.
When someone raises funds through our platform, 7% of what's collected is retained to cover three real costs:
Payment processing (~4%): Every credit and debit card transaction carries a fee charged by the payment networks. This goes directly to our payment processor. Rivergate Foundation receives none of it.
Platform administration (~2%): We use a grants management system to review applications, vet campaigns, and ensure funds reach their intended purpose. This cost is shared across all campaigns we host.
Foundation operations (~1%): A portion of this fee helps sustain the staff who review every application, support campaign coordinators, and maintain the integrity of the program.
